Producer or Consumer
Hi all, sorry a bit of a deep heading but am looking for Converse wearers insight into producing advertising for the brand. Not sure if you are all aware of the Brand democracy Campaign back in 2004 but consumers were asked to produce short films of 24 seconds long and a selection would be used for their advertising campaign. Do you think that producing advertising that will be seen by you (a consumer) alongside other consumers affects the meaning of the advert? Or does it not matter what the story of the film is about, that the product speaks for itself as it is so iconic? You can view one of the videos on You Tube, just search for The Amazing Russell. Your thoughts on this and why you guys wear Converse would be fab! x

For me personaly i dont really care what the story portrayed in the add is, as you mentioned in your post the Sneakers themselves are so iconic that they tend to speak for themselves.
As long as the main focus of the ad is more about the actual sneakers than the dtory then im happy, i do agree that we need more publicity for our Chuck’s especialy here in the UK where sneakers which are heavily over priced, and of questionalble qaulity and comfort have the lions share of the market.

We have uploaded some videos that we think were pretty nice to see regarding this same issue. Thanks Sally for pointing that ad in your post.
